Prawns shallow fry

Prawns are a good source of omega 3 fatty acids and also a healthy alternative protein source.Enjoy the natural sweet flavor of prawns either  in curry or fried.

 

 

What we need:

Prawns- 8 ,deshelled and deveined

Salt

Oil for shallow fry

Red chilly powder-1 tsp

Turmeric-1/2 tsp

Lemon juice-1 to 1 1/2 tsp

Semolina(soon I rawa)-1 tsp

Cornflour- 1 tbsp

Coriander leaves for garnish

How we make:

First wash and clean the prawns

  • Marinate them with salt,chilly powder,turmeric and lemon juice
  • Keep aside for 30 mins or More
  • Take a plate and mix semolina and cornflour evenly
  • Heat oil in a flat non stick pan on medium flame
  • Nicely coat the prawns one by one with cornflour- rawa mix
  • Slowly drop the prawns one by one in the pan,fry 4 at a time
  • After 4 mins or more,  when you notice the prawns changing colour to golden,turn them and cook the other side
  • After about 3-4 mins ,you notice the prawns size a little shrinked and now they are nice cooked soft inside and crispy outside
  • Drain them on paper towel
  • Now drop in next batch of prawns and cook the same way.
  • Serve warm as a non vegetarian starter dish
  • Garnish with coriander and lemon

Total time spent for cooking- 15to 20 mins 

Marination time- 30 mins
