Mix vegetable korma

Dish name: Mix vegetable korma



What we need:

  • Mix veggies( carrot,peas,beans,potato)-1 cup ,diced small
  • Ghee-1/4 cup
  • Paneer- 2 tbsp,diced small
  • Turmeric- 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilly powder-3/4 tsp
  • Onions- 1 big
  • Tomato- 2 medium
  • Ginger Garlic paste- 1 tbsp
  • poppy seeds-1 tbsp
  • fennel seeds-1 tsp
  • fresh coconut-3 tbsp,grated
  • Garam masala powder -1/2 tsp
  • Salt as needed
  • Coriander- 1/4 cup,chopped


How  we make:

  • Make a paste of onion and tomatoes and seperately wet grind coconut fennel and poppy seeds
  • Heat ghee in pressure cooker ,once ready add the paste of onions and tomatoes and saute
  • Add ginger garlic paste and stir well till raw smell goes away
  • Add turmeric,red chilly powder and sauté the mixture
  • Now add coconut paste and mix well
  • Keep stirring and cook it with lid covered,till ghee leaves the sides of vessel
  • Add salt and little water to it .
  • For korma, we need thick gravy so adjust the gravy consistency accordingly
  • Add the vegetables and coriander leaves and  simmer the flame and cook for another 2-3  mins
  • Pressure cook for 2 whistles
  • Wait for pressure to settle down and Serve immediately

Total Time spent: 40-45 mins

Alternate method:

Instead of cooking in a  pressure cooker,we can also cook the korma in a non stick kadhai.We need to steam  the vegetables in advance and then add it to the gravy.You can add any vegetables of your choice

This recipes can be a good side dish for parathas or tandoori roti,with puri or chapati
